William A. Goddard III is a world-renowned scientist in theoretical chemistry, materials science, and nanotechnology. He received his B.S. in Engineering with Highest Honors from UCLA in 1960 and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science with a minor in Physics from Caltech in 1965, where he later served as an Alfred A. Noyes Research Fellow in Chemistry. Since joining the Caltech faculty in 1967, Prof. Goddard has held several distinguished roles, including Director of the Materials and Process Simulation Center since 1990 and Charles and Mary Ferkel Professor of Chemistry, Materials Science, and Applied Physics since 2001. Over his career, he has published more than 1,720 research papers, achieved an H-index of 200, and holds 33 patents, reflecting his immense contributions to computational chemistry, catalysis, and advanced materials design. His pioneering work has earned him election to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Royal Society of Chemistry, along with major awards such as the Feynman Prize for Nanotechnology Theory, multiple NASA Space Sciences Awards, and the American Chemical Society Awards for Computers in Chemistry and Theoretical Chemistry. He has also held international positions, including at KAIST in Korea and IISc in India, and has consistently been ranked among the world’s top chemistry scientists. In recent years, he received the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Horizon Prize (2024) and a Lifetime Achievement Award in Catalysis and Reaction Engineering (2025). With over six decades of research and leadership, Prof. Goddard continues to shape the future of chemistry and materials science, inspiring generations of scientists worldwide.

Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 134) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 30,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. He is currently helping those companies and serves as a professor at Brown University, Saveetha University, HebeiUniversity of Technology, UFPI, and others. Dr. Webster has numerous awards including: 2020, World Top 2% Scientist by Citations (PLOS); 2020, SCOPUS Highly Cited Research (Top 1% Materials Science and Mixed Fields); 2021, Clarivate Top 0.1% Most Influential Researchers (Pharmacology and Toxicology); 2022, Best Materials Science Scientist by Citations (Research.com); and is a fellow of over 8 societies.Prof. Webster is a former President of the U.S. Society for Biomaterials and has over 1,350 publications to his credit with over 55,000 citations. He was recently nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Prof. Webster also recently formed a fund to support Nigerian student research opportunities in the U.S.

Chuanyi Wang is a distinguished professor at Shaanxi University of Science & Technology (SUST), China, and an adjunct professor at Chulalongkorn University, Thailan. Before moving to SUST in 2017, he was a distinguished professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), serving as Director of Laboratory of Environmental Science & Technology of Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics & Chemistry, CAS (2010-2017). He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Institute of Photographic Chemistry of CAS in 1998, worked in Germany (Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hannover and Free University Berlin) as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow from 1999 to 2000, and then worked in USA (Tufts University and Missouri University-Kansas City) as a research faculty from 2000 to 2010. Currently, Prof. Wang also acts as an associate editor or editorial board member for number of international journals including Environmental Chemistry Letters (Q1, IF 20.4), Chemical Engineering Journal (Q1, IF13.2) etc. His research mainly focuses on energy and environmental photocatalysis. So far, he has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers with more than 27000 citations and an h-index of 93. Prof. Wang is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards or honors such as:Fellow of European Academy of Sciences, Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, Advanced Materials Laureate(only 10 conferred by International Association of Advanced Materials since 2013), Researcher of the Year (one of the highest awards conferred by IAAM, 2025), World’s Top 2% Scientist (ranked 80th in Physical Chemistry, 2024), Highly Ranked Scholar-Prior 5 years (Top 0.05% all fields; ranked 57th in Environmental Science, ScholarGPS, 2024), Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials etc.

Prof. Zhimin Ao, is a Full Professor at the Advanced Interdisciplinary Institute of Environment and Ecology, Beijing Normal University. He is Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, and Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), his research interests are surface/interface behaviors in environmental pollution control. He has authored over 240 SCI- indexed papers in prestigious journals including Nature Nanotechnology, Matter, Advanced Functional Materials, Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, ACS Catalysis, and Water Research. His work includes 35+ ESI Highly Cited Papers, his publications have attracted over 20,000 citations with an H- index of 78. Prof. Ao has led in 10+ major research programs, including 3 NSFC projects, 1 National Key R&D Program sub-project, and 1 Guangdong Provincial Key Science and Technology Project. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Surfaces and Interfaces, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Nanotechnology, and Senior Editorial Board Member of Chinese Chemical Letters. Paulo C. DE MORAIS (H-60), PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology– China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. Francisco José Maldonado Hódar is Full Professor at the University of Granada, Spain (Department of Inorganic Chemistry) and member of the NanoTech – Nanomaterials and Sustainable Chemical Technologies. Doctor in Chemistry from 1993 by this University (Doctorate Award) his research interest is focused (but not exclusively) in the development of(Nano)Carbon Materials with fitted physicochemical properties to be used as adsorbent, molecular sieves and mainly as heterogeneous catalysts, in processes involved in the environment protection, clean energy production and storage or fine chemistry synthesis, looking for a profitable but sustainable (zero waste) production system. He is coauthor of more than 180 highly cited manuscripts (H= 47, Scopus, H=52 G. Schoolar), different book chapters and 8 international patents.In the last four years has been included in the list published by Stanford University that indicates the 2% of the most relevant scientists worldwide.

Bin Wu is a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University. I obtained my Ph.D. degree from the Humboldt University of Berlin and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie in 2023 after I received my B.E. degree in Materials Chemistry from Chongqing University in 2016 as well as master degree in Materials Engineering from Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019. My current research interests focus on design and in situ characterizations of carbon nanomaterials for electrocatalysis. I have published over 16 papers on Journal of American Chemical Society, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (3), Advanced Materials, Energy Environmental Science, Advanced Functional Materials (4), ACS Nnao and other flagship journals, which received lots of citations from other peer researchers in this field. I was invited to be one of Early Career Editorial Board Members in various SCI Journals such as Carbon Neutralization, Exploration, Microstructure, Chemical Synthesis, ChemPhysMater and Materials Today Catalysis. Also I was invited as Editorial Board Member in Nature-Springer Journal ”Scientific Report” in charge of article processing. Moreover, I was also appointed as guest editors in SCI Journals like Energies, Catalysts and Materials Today Catalysis.

Dr. Miguel Ángel Mueses is a Senior Researcher (Investigador Senior - IS) recognized by the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MinCiencias). A native of Colombia, Dr. Mueses has built an accomplished career in Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on photocatalysis, reactor modeling, and advanced oxidation processes for environmental applications. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad del Valle (2008–2013), where his doctoral thesis, "Modelo de Rendimiento Cuántico para Sistemas Simples y Mezclas Multicomponentes Aplicado en Escalamiento y Simulación de Reactores Fotocatalíticos Heterogéneos", was awarded Laureate distinction in 2012 and later recognized as the Best Doctoral Thesis in Chemical Engineering (CPIQ, 2020). Prior to this, he completed a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (2006–2008) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (1999–2005) at the same institution. His academic foundations also include a Diploma in Higher Education Teaching from the Universidad de Cartagena (2011). Currently, Dr. Mueses serves as a full-time faculty member at the Universidad de Cartagena, where he is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He has designed and instructed numerous graduate and doctoral courses, including Matemáticas Avanzadas, Fenómenos de Transporte, Tratamiento de Aguas por Tecnologías Avanzadas de Oxidación, and Materiales Compuestos, among others. His dedication to academic excellence is reflected in his contribution to curriculum development and mentoring of doctoral candidates in engineering and environmental science. Dr. Mueses has conducted significant research on solar photocatalysis and environmental remediation, focusing on the modeling, scaling, and simulation of photocatalytic reactors. His collaborative projects with institutions such as Loughborough University (UK) have contributed to advancements in the mathematical modeling and optimization of heterogeneous photocatalytic systems applied in wastewater treatment. His projects include Modelado, Evaluación Experimental, Escalamiento y Simulación de Procesos de Fotocatálisis Solar a Escala Piloto and Degradación de Contaminantes Emergentes Asistida con Radiación Solar y Fotocatálisis a Base de Bi₂O₃ y TiO₂ Dopados. Beyond his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mueses is deeply involved in the scientific community. He serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the Chemical Engineering Journal Advances (Elsevier) and as an Assistant Editor for the Revista Ingeniería y Competitividad of Universidad del Valle. He is also a former member of the American Chemical Society and a member of the Colombian Society of Catalysis. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Mueses has been the recipient of multiple honors, including the Medalla de Honor - Ciudadano Ilustre del Sur (2017) and the Trayectoria Investigativa Award (2015) from Universidad del Valle’s GAOX Research Group. His academic excellence was evident from early on, as he was recognized with the Andrés Bello National Award and Best Academic Baccalaureate distinction. His primary research lines include Heterogeneous and Environmental Catalysis, Photocatalysis and Photoreactor Engineering, Theoretical Photocatalysis, and Advanced Oxidation Processes. Through his work, Dr. Mueses has significantly contributed to the understanding and development of sustainable environmental technologies based on solar energy and catalytic materials.
